Freaknight 2014

On Halloween, one person died from an overdose from a bad batch of the party drug Molly at Freaknight 2014 in Seattle. There were multiple reports of others becoming sick.

Molly, a “pure” form of MDMA, is more commonly known as xstasy. The drug allows the user to have feelings of increased energy, euphoria, emotional warmth and empathy toward others, and distortions in sensory and time perception. It also causes the user to be dehydrated and overheated.

Any time there is a situation like this, my heart breaks.

To the family and friends of the gentleman who were lost….my heart breaks for you. If I would ever meet you, there would be endless hugs from me. I’m so sorry for your loss. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

The man who died had his whole life in front of him. He made a bad decision. It cost him his most precious possession…life. My heart is break for this man.

Regardless of any new info about FreakNight Festival that may come out, we need to take better care of each other at EVERY show in the future. On a personal level, I need to come out of my shell and reach out to someone I’ve never met to help when I see someone struggling.

The point is this…look out for your brothers and sisters. For those of you who partake…please err on the side of caution. There are some who do not practice control. There is no shame in that. The drug culture at any club/party/rave/massive will always happen regardless of musical genre. There is no pure anything.
There are too many sketchy people who would sell bad stuff in the name of money and not give a damn about you or your health and safety.

Please, y’all. Take care of one another. I hope and I pray this was a wake up call to the Seattle community to make moderation the gospel not just an occasional sermon. I echo the comments made earlier that we need to practice what ewe preach.

Peace.
Love.
Unity.
Respect.
Responsibility.
